Terms of Service

Terms for using DirectlyDrop, user responsibilities, prohibited content, advertising, third parties, and limitations of liability.

Updated: August 7, 2026 · 4 min read

1. Scope of service

DirectlyDrop is a free browser-based file-transfer tool. Continuous availability, compatibility with every browser, and error-free operation are not guaranteed. Success depends on device capacity, browser support, and network conditions.

Sender and recipient must be online together. The current version does not resume interrupted transfers or create offline download links.

2. User responsibility

Users must have the right to share each file and must verify the intended recipient. Do not publish room codes; verify recipients separately for sensitive files.

Keep a backup before transfer. DirectlyDrop is not a backup service and cannot restore data lost through disconnection, tab closure, or device failure.

3. Prohibited use

The service must not be used for unlawful content, malware, unauthorized personal data, copyright infringement, or files that violate another person's rights or safety. Automated abuse and attempts to damage the service or connection infrastructure are prohibited.

Access may be restricted for legal obligations, security risks, or abuse. Permanent file storage is not provided, so content cannot always be reviewed before transfer.

4. Advertising and third-party services

Eligible content pages may show advertising to support operating costs. Ads are separated from connection, file selection, and send controls. Users are never asked to click ads or offered features in exchange for clicks.

Connection, analytics, and advertising depend on third-party providers whose availability and terms may change outside DirectlyDrop's control.

5. Liability and changes

To the extent permitted by applicable law, DirectlyDrop is not liable for indirect loss caused by disconnection, failed transfer, wrong recipient selection, browser incompatibility, third-party outages, or loss on a user's device.

These terms may be updated when the product or legal requirements change. Review the revision date before continued use and send questions through the Contact page.
